X was on the verge of growing out of his first ski jacket.

I loved the triclimate system. Hence, despite studying other brands, especially the funky Spyder ski jackets which came in X’s size, I was still keen on getting back the same old, safe and boring North Face. The problem was X required a size XXS but most sites only offered XS at best which would be too big for him.

I was not getting a good set of options too.

I had to keep changing and fine tuning my keywords till I had more varied results being returned.

I trawled through pages and eventually found what I wanted on a page 5 or 6. After checking that the website was legit and with a 15% Mother’s Day discount, I was sold. Literally sold.

It sure felt like digging for gold online! The usual price was US$170, marked down to US$102 and with an additional 15% discount, it was US$86.70. Given today’s exchange rate, it was probably S$125.

As usual, I celebrated my steal a tad early and had my order cancelled!! I had to use a US credit card with a US billing address. The order had to be shipped to the billing address. Horrors and disappointments!

I had to search deeper, find another website with a steeper price tag but hey, I hope we would get it, as in no more cancellation!

Minding the work

With the new job on hand, I had not been as earnest as I was in the first year. Imagine my surprise when I came across this news clipping outside X’s preschool.

Once again, another blatant reminder that girls outshone boys at a young age.

Before I became a mom, I had to say in never knew or realised this difference. It would not make a difference because I would still love my sons the way they were.

I had to say that they were so forgetful that they always forgot my scolding and bore zero grudge. But it also meant teaching them was a pain because they also remembered little.

In fact, Z asked me why was it that he could forgive and forget swiftly, but why could I bear grudges for more than a day?

Similarly, I also wondered why he could forget everything we taught him in less than a day.

A new watch

Z takes such poor care of his blue baby-g that I want to change his watch. Mr H thinks that it’s an unnecessary change which I know.

Hence, I picked up a toothbrush to wash his baby-g because of how much dirt it accumulated.

I was pleasantly surprised by UOB latest promotion which was a free G-shock. We happened to sign off his class fees and had sufficient charge slips to clock the required amount for redemption!

My dear boy was so sensible and told us to keep this watch when he turned P5. Aww…
