The big news about the banding of grades into ALs came out and created a flurry of discussion.
In the midst of it, I noticed how most parents (peers and friends) were gravitating towards the concept of striving for 4 points. In an ideal world, to be best of the best, you should get 4 points but that also meant achieving a score of at least 90 marks for all 4 subjects.
Converting these scores loosely, it indicated a T-score of 270?
I thought everyone should take a realistic breather on this.
To be honest, if Z could get 8 points, I would consider that as a very, very good result.
Then again, it also depended on the cut off points and what affiliation could actually help in. Whatever it was, the primary and secondary schools that the child entered had little to help him/her to succeed in life.
5.5 more years to go for us! I sure hoped I would look back on this and still agreed wholeheartedly.
